Free senior living placement & help with downsizing, moving, and additional assistance · Alliance, OH & the Northeast Ohio area

Mom can't live alone anymore — and you don't have to figure this out by yourself.

I'm Ashley, a local Senior Transition Specialist. I help families find the right assisted living, adult foster care, or nursing care for a parent — then coordinate the entire move. The care home where your loved one is placed pays me a referral fee, so my help is always free to your family.

Free to families Local — I'll meet you in person 8+ years helping families find resources

How it works

Three steps, one point of contact.

1

We talk — free, no pressure

Call or text me at (330) 356-8663. I'll listen to what's happening with your parent, their health needs, and your budget, and tell you honestly what your realistic options are.

2

I find and tour the right places with you

I only recommend the best local care and housing — assisted living, adult foster care homes, memory care, or nursing care I've personally visited and would trust with my own family. I'll tour them with you, or for you if you're out of town.

3

I coordinate the whole move

Movers, downsizing help, paperwork, move-in day details, and connecting your family to community resources afterward. You get one person to call — me — until your parent is settled.

About Ashley

Hi, I'm Ashley Miller — your family's guide through a hard season.

For more than eight years, I've helped families access healthcare, housing, and community resources when they needed them most. Now I put that experience to work for one family at a time — finding the right facility, coordinating the entire move, and staying with your family from the first worried phone call until your parent is settled and safe. Local, in person, and one-on-one — never a call center.

  • 8+ years helping families access healthcare, housing, food & community resources
  • Works directly with local nursing care and adult foster care homes
  • Based in Alliance — serving Stark, Columbiana, Mahoning & Portage counties in person
  • Free to families — the care home where your loved one is placed pays me for the referral; I never charge families directly

Why is this free?

You never pay me directly. Here's exactly how it works.

When your loved one is placed in a care home that meets their needs, that care home pays me a referral fee for my services — much like a realtor is paid through the transaction, not by the buyer. I never charge any family directly, and your monthly rate is never raised to cover my fee. The trusted movers, cleaners, and service providers I coordinate work the same way: they bill your family directly at their normal rates and pay me a referral fee for the coordination — with every price quoted to you in writing before any work begins.

Because I'm paid the same way by many local care homes, I have no reason to steer you anywhere — my only incentive is finding a place your family is genuinely happy with, because my business runs on your referrals and reviews. I'll always tell you about this arrangement openly, and if the best answer for your parent is staying home with in-home support, I'll tell you that too.

Real questions from real families

The questions you haven't said out loud yet.

Is this really free? What's the catch?

There's no catch — you never pay me directly. When your loved one is placed in a care home that meets their needs, that care home pays me a referral fee for my services. I never charge any family, and your monthly rate is the same either way. I disclose this arrangement openly.

How fast can you help? The hospital says Dad is being discharged Friday.

Fast. Because I work locally and already know the care homes around Alliance, Canton, and Salem, I can usually bring you the best realistic options within days — often faster, depending on placement availability — and coordinate directly with the discharge planner. Don't accept the default placement just because the clock is ticking — here's how discharge placement works.

What if Mom refuses to even discuss it?

That's normal, and it usually takes more than one conversation. I help families lead with safety and specific observations instead of ultimatums, and I can join the conversation as a neutral third party. Sometimes the right first step is smaller — like an adult foster care home that feels like a house, not a facility.

What's the difference between assisted living, adult foster care, and a nursing home?

Assisted living is apartment-style with help for daily tasks. Adult foster care homes care for a few residents in a real house — often gentler and more affordable. Nursing homes provide 24/7 skilled medical care. Matching the level of care to your parent's actual needs is the heart of what I do — see the full breakdown.

What does assisted living cost around Alliance?

Local assisted living averages around $4,900/month, ranging roughly $2,400–$8,500 depending on care level and amenities. Adult foster care is often less. I match options to your realistic budget before you tour anywhere.

Will Medicare or Medicaid cover any of this?

Medicare doesn't pay for long-term assisted living. Ohio's Assisted Living Medicaid Waiver can help qualifying seniors in participating care homes, and wartime veterans and surviving spouses may qualify for VA Aid & Attendance. I'll help you understand which paths might apply to your family.

Do the moving, cleaning, and other move services cost extra?

You will never receive an invoice from NEOhio Senior Transitions — for anything. Movers, cleaners, and estate services bill you directly at their normal rates (they pay me a referral fee for the coordination), and every price is quoted to you in writing before any work begins. You approve each quote first. More on how the move side works.

I live out of state and Mom is near Alliance. Can you handle this?

Yes — this is one of the most common calls I get. I tour care homes in person and video-call you from each one, coordinate the movers, and check everything on move-in day so you're not managing a move from hundreds of miles away. Here's how the move side works.

How are you different from the big national referral services?

National services work by phone from call centers and share your contact info with many facilities at once. I'm local and one-on-one: I've personally walked the halls of the places I recommend, I meet your family in person, and I build a personalized plan — then coordinate every step of it through move-in day and beyond.

What does a Senior Transition Specialist do?

A Senior Transition Specialist guides families through a major life transition from start to finish: assessing care needs, finding the right housing arrangement, coordinating the move, and connecting the family with community resources like healthcare referrals, benefits, and food access. One person, the whole journey.

What areas do you serve?

I'm based in Alliance, Ohio and personally serve families across Stark, Columbiana, Mahoning, and Portage counties — including Alliance, Sebring, Salem, Minerva, Canton, North Canton, Louisville, Carrollton, Lisbon, Columbiana, Massillon, Hartville, and Ravenna.

"Making this call isn't giving up on your parent. It's making sure they're somewhere safe, cared for, and never alone."

Almost every family I work with feels guilty at first. What they feel afterward is relief — the first full night of sleep without listening for the phone, the visit where you get to just be a daughter or son again instead of a caregiver. That's what's waiting on the other side of this, and I'll help you get there.
